AI SEO and AI Search Agency | BAW Creative
When shoppers ask ChatGPT what to buy, make sure it names you.
AI models pick products from three things: your product data, your reviews and what other sites say about you. We work on all three as one plan, from your Shopify store and Google feed to your review emails and PR, and report what it's worth in visits and orders, not just mentions.
Three coats shoppers rate highly for wet walks:
- 01Products AI can read
- 02Reasons to pick you
- 03Measured in orders
58%
fewer clicks for the top Google result when an AI Overview sits above it
48%
of UK adults who use AI chat tools would consider a brand they'd never heard of if AI recommended it
4%
would buy on an AI's word alone. Many search Google (46%) or read reviews (43%) first
Your rankings look fine. So why are fewer people clicking?
Google now answers a lot of questions itself, and more of your customers ask ChatGPT before they ask Google. They ask for the best option in your category and it names three brands. If none of them is yours, you never knew that sale existed.
- Organic traffic is down, but our rankings haven't moved
- We asked ChatGPT about our category and it didn't mention us
- A customer found a competitor through ChatGPT
- We've no idea whether any sales come from AI
- Every agency sells AI SEO and none can say what it's worth
None of that means you need a new website or a pile of AI-written blog posts. Usually it means AI tools can't find, read or trust what you already sell.
Named in the answer, not buried under it
Every AI recommendation is built from the same three things. Here's what one looks like when it goes your way.
Your brand Storm Coat is a strong pick: £42, fully waterproof with reflective trim, rated 4.8 from 612 reviews and featured in three outdoor roundups, so it's well tested on wet walks. yourbrand.co.uk
Products AI can read
Titles, descriptions, sizes, materials, prices and stock that ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI can match to what shoppers ask. Your Shopify store, your Google Merchant Center feed and your product pages all telling the same story.
Reasons to pick you
Reviews, comparison sites, roundups and press are what AI tools check before they name a brand, and what shoppers check after. We help you earn them, so there's proof to point to.
A report in orders, not mentions
Each month you see where you're named and cited, which competitors appear instead, and the visits and orders AI tools sent you. In plain English, with what we're doing next.
How we get your products recommended
Four workstreams, four specialists, one plan.
- 01
See what AI says about you now
We ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode the questions your customers ask, across every category you sell in, and record who gets named and which pages get cited. That becomes your baseline in SEO Monitor, so every change after it is measured against where you started.
- 02
Fix the product data
Your Shopify catalogue, product pages, structured data and Google Merchant Center feed, cleaned up and made consistent. Our SEO team and the PPC team who already run Shopping feeds do this together, and our developers make the changes on your store.
- 03
Build the reasons to recommend you
Collection pages and buying guides that answer the questions shoppers ask AI. Review requests built into your post-purchase emails. PR aimed at the roundups, comparison sites and publications AI tools cite in your category.
- 04
Report, test, repeat
Every month: where you're named, where you're cited, who's beating you and what AI tools sent you in visits and orders. New tactics get tried on our own brands first, then rolled out to yours.
What we check on your store so AI tools can read every product
Yes, it's a lot. Good news: it's our job, not yours. We check it, fix it and keep it fixed, so nobody on your team has to learn what a GTIN is.
Shopify agentic storefronts
Which AI channels your products are switched on for in your Shopify admin, and whether the data behind them is complete.
Google Merchant Center feed
Titles, attributes, GTINs and stock that Google's AI Mode and Shopping read. The same feed our PPC team runs Shopping ads from.
Product structured data
Product, offer, review and FAQ markup on your theme, checked against what each page actually says.
AI crawler access
Robots rules, speed and rendering, so OAI‑SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Google can read every page you want recommended.
Review signals
How many reviews you have, how recent they are and where they show, with review requests built into your post-purchase emails.
Tracking
AI visibility tracked in SEO Monitor, plus visits and orders from AI tools in GA4 and Shopify, so you can see what it's worth.
One team, every channel, one plan
Joined up
Search, ads, email and content share one strategy and the same keywords, audiences and customer data. A marketing strategy, not a channel strategy.
We do the work
Strategy, creative and implementation, all of it ours. You're not being handed a plan to give to somebody else.
Tested on our brands
We run our own D2C brands. New tactics get tried there first, on our money, before they reach your account.
Commercial first
We track what makes money and explain it in plain terms. Not traffic, not impressions, not any other number that looks good in a deck.
A report that ends in orders
Where you're named, where you're cited, who's being recommended instead, and what AI tools sent you in visits and orders. Then what we're doing next, in plain English.
- Named and cited
- Named only
- Not in the answer
- Add size and fabric to the feed
- Ask Storm Coat buyers for reviews
- Pitch two dog-walking roundups
Three steps to being in the answer
A 30 minute call
We look at your categories, your store and how you're found today.
An AI visibility check
We put real customer questions to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode and show you who's named, who's cited and where you're missing.
A plan for your store
What we'd fix first, who on our team does it and what we'll report on.
AI search works best when it isn't a separate service
Everything an AI tool uses to recommend you is made somewhere else in your marketing. The product feed is part of your Shopping ads. The reviews come from your post-purchase emails. The pages it cites are the ones you're trying to rank on Google. Run them separately and they pull in different directions. Run them off one plan and each one makes the others work harder.
That's the Growth Package. One team running search, ads, email and content off one plan, with us deciding where the budget goes based on what the numbers say.
The Growth Package
4 channels. 1 team.
AI search questions
Not seeing yours? Bring it to the call and we'll answer it with your store open.
What is AI search optimisation?
It's the work of getting your brand named, and your pages cited, when people ask AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google's AI Mode and AI Overviews for advice. You'll also see it called AI SEO, GEO (generative engine optimisation) and AEO (answer engine optimisation). They describe the same job.
Is AI search different from SEO?
It builds on SEO rather than replacing it. AI tools search the web before they answer, so pages that rank and can be crawled still matter. The difference is what decides the answer: product data, reviews and what other sites say about you count for more, and being named matters more than being clicked.
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend us?
No, and be wary of anyone who says they can. Nobody controls what an AI tool says, and answers change from week to week. What we can work on is everything it reads about you, and we track how often you're named so you can see whether it's working.
Can we pay to appear in ChatGPT?
You can pay for ads. ChatGPT ads went live in the UK in June 2026 for people on the free and Go plans. They sit separately from the answer and are labelled as ads, so they can't buy you a place in the recommendation itself. Our PPC team can test them alongside your Google and Meta ads where the numbers make sense.
Are our products already in ChatGPT?
If you're on Shopify, quite possibly. Since March 2026 Shopify's agentic storefronts have made eligible stores' products available to AI channels including ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode and Gemini. You can see which are switched on under Sales channels, then Agentic, in your Shopify admin. Being available isn't the same as being recommended. That comes down to your product data and the reasons AI has to pick you.
How do you measure it?
Two ways. First, visibility: we track a set of real customer questions in SEO Monitor and report how often you're named, which of your pages are cited and which competitors appear instead. Second, what it sends you: visits and orders from AI tools in GA4 and Shopify. Clicks from Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode are counted inside normal Google traffic, so that part can't be split out yet. We'll always tell you what we can and can't see.
How long does it take?
Some changes, like fixing product data, can be picked up the next time an AI tool reads the page. Others, like reviews and press coverage, build over months. We'd rather show you your baseline and the first month's movement than guess a date.
Will AI-written content help?
Not on its own. AI tools favour pages with specific, checkable information: sizes, materials, prices, comparisons and real reviews. Generic content adds nothing they can't write themselves. We write for the questions your customers ask, using what only you know about your products.
Do we need an llms.txt file?
We'll add one, as it takes minutes, but it's not where the gains are. Product data, page content and reviews do far more of the work.
Do you only work with Shopify stores?
Most of the brands we work with are on Shopify, and that's where we can do the most, because we build and run Shopify stores ourselves. If you're on another platform, we'll tell you on the first call whether we're a good fit.
Find out what ChatGPT says about you
Book a 30 minute call. Beforehand, we'll put a handful of your customers' questions to ChatGPT and Google's AI Mode, so you'll see who's being recommended in your category and why. You'll leave knowing where you stand, even if you never work with us.
